Donn Young Memorial Book Distribution Program
The Lake Elsinore Valley Education Foundation supports Family Literacy through the Donn Young Memorial Book Distribution Program *. Each year thousands of books are given FREE to early grades in the LEUSD through our collaboration with the First Book Program. To date we have distributed over 18,000 books. If you receive a book from our organization as an adult, it is your chance to gift to a son, daughter, niece, nephew, grandchild or family friend. Books open up the world of learning, discovery and escape. Reading is not only a life-long skill but it is the key to academic success. Remember, reading is fun, pass it on!

Now You Know
*Donn Young was a local Wildomar resident who served his country, raised his family and found himself a leader in the Shriners Organization among others. As part of our organization, Donn served as our Treasurer for many years until his passing a few years ago. He was a great friend and believed that reading was the key to a successful education. It is an honor to distribute books in his name and a great way to preserve his legacy of community service.
Established in 2007, The Lake Elsinore Valley Education Foundation (LEVEF) was created in honor of former LEUSD Superintendent Dr. Sharron Lindsay, who envisioned it as a lasting way for the community to help support students of all abilities to pursue a college education.
We are also proud of our new program that provides books to elementary age students.
Our next big step starting in Fall of 2023/24 is supplemental funding for enrichment programs that will provide educational opportunities, including academic, artistic, vocational and athletic needs.
